Hornby Hockey welcomes new members of all abilities and age groups. We are proud of our community clubs' friendly atmosphere and all members are encouraged to support club competitions and social events.


Womens uniformCLUB SUBSCRIPTIONS
There are three levels of club subscription - Primary School, High School and Open.

Rates for the 2010 season are:

  • Primary School players $80.00 reducible to $50.00 if paid by Tuesday 15th June 2010.
  • High School $180.00 reducible to $125.00 if paid by Tuesday 15th June 2010.
  • Open grade $280.00 reducible to $200.00 if paid by Tuesday 15th June 2010.
  • Members playing solely on grass $175.00 if paid by Tuesday 15th June 2010.
  • Social or Supporters membership remains at $10.00
  • Shirt hire of $10.00 per player is additional to the club subscription.

There is a family discount of 10% available for three or more high school or primary players from the one family.

Mens uniformIn addition there is a small one off fee for all primary players playing on artificial surfaces and for High School and open Grades a weekly match fee payable to the team manager on the day. This amount can vary depending on sponsorship and playing numbers, however the charge to the club by the Hockey Association is $94.25 per team per game for games of 70 minutes duration, $86.00 for games of 60 minutes and $78.25 for games of 50 minutes.

 

CLUB COLOURS
The clubs playing colors are black and gold. The playing shirt is taken to and from the games by the team manager. Shorts, skirts and sox are generally the players responsibility. Hornby wears its uniform with pride and the wearing of non uniform items at game time is not acceptable.

CLUB SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME
In an effort to maintain or improve our ranking in the local premier competition the club offers a limited number of hockey scholarships to students in full time tertiary study. In return successful candidates are expected to take a full part in all team activity, trainings and games, maintain a high level of fitness and be available to assist with the club's junior development programme. We would expect applicants to have been involved in their provincial grades at, at least U/18 level or higher.
